Jan Seale

Jan Seale, the 2012 Texas Poet Laureate, is the author of ten volumes of poetry, two books of short fiction, five works of nonfiction, and several children’s books. Her latest books are A Lifetime of Words, a collection of articles, speeches, and interviews, and Particulars: poems of smallness. Her work is published in such places as The Yale Review, Texas Monthly, The Chicago Tribune, and Writer’s Digest. She is the recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Seale has given poetry readings and taught workshops in memoir and creative writing both in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, where she lives, and nationally for universities, writing groups, and learning centers.
